The AGM is always an important opportunity to reflect and report to our members on the past year and look to what’s ahead.  This year we’ll cover: * Celebration of the Fragile X community, including Achievement Awards and thanking our Volunteers. * FXAA’s programs and impact in 2026; * Treasurer’s Report and audited financials at 30 June 2026. * What our members told us in the Fragile X Community Survey 2026 * Election of members to the Board, with voting by online poll. * And we’ll take a look at what’s on the horizon for FXAA in 2027.

Webinar | Sensory Processing & Fragile X syndrome, 28 July

Bev Kadish is an occupational therapist who has extensive experience in supporting children with Fragile X syndrome and sensory sensitivities. In this presentation Bev will explain what Sensory Processing is and talk about the sensory sensitivities which are commonly experienced by people with Fragile X syndrome. Bev will talk about how a "sensory diet" of activities that are proactive or responsive can help a person remain calm and regulated. Bev will also provide practical strategies to help you support someone who has sensory sensitivities and Fragile X syndrome. Followed by live Q&A.

World Fragile X Day is an international celebration of Fragile X on 22 July every year. Here in in Australia we invite significant landmarks in each state and territory to celebrate by lighting up in our signature colour, ORANGE. Worldwide we expect to see hundreds of landmarks around the world celebrating! Including close to 100 in Australia! What’s lighting up near you, so far?? Check out our list of supporters. FXAA Annual Report 2024-2025

Our Annual Report for 2025 was tabled at the Annual General Meeting held on 23 November 2025.  The work of Fragile X Association of Australia as a Health Promotion charity remains guided by our Strategic Plan 2022-2025 and we continued to make good progress against each of the four strategic pillars - Support & Connection, Empowerment, Advocacy and Education.  The Annual Report is a comprehensive roundup of our programs and activities in financial year 2024-2025. It covers:   Supporting the Fragile X community through advocacy, counselling, and peer connections.  Progress of the first Australian study to explore the health, wellbeing and support needs of adults with Fragile X syndrome as they grow older:  Fragile X Care | Adults and Ageing study.  Improving understanding of Fragile X syndrome and Fragile X Premutation Associated Conditions across the disability and health sectors.   Building knowledge and connections through our educational FX webinar series.   Lighting up Australia for World Fragile X Day on 22 July. A report from the Treasurer. And a thank you to our Supporters who make it possible for us to keep working towards our vision that people living with Fragile X are connected, included, understood and empowered to live their best possible lives.

Board nominations open to 19 October 2025

Serving on the Board of FXAA as a volunteer director is a rewarding way to support the Fragile X community and to help shape the future direction and impact of Fragile X Association of Australia. Nominations are now open for Board members to be appointed at the Annual General Meeting on Sunday 23 November. If you're keen to make a difference for the Fragile X community, submit a Nomination form and Expression of Interest by end of day Sunday 19 October.

22 July 2025 | Lighting up for World Fragile X Day

Thanks to strong support from Councils, infrastructure operators, NGOs and businesses around the country - we have an incredible 124 landmarks involved in our lightup for World Fragile X Day!  Brisbane City Council has promised an early kickoff on the night of Monday 21st - with Story Bridge, Victoria Bridge and other key city landmarks  leading us into World Fragile X Day.
