Bev Kadish is an occupational therapist who has extensive experience in supporting children with Fragile X syndrome and sensory sensitivities. Bev is founder of Write Start OT, a paediatric occupational therapy practice in Melbourne. She has worked across a range of settings including special schools, community health centres, hospitals, in private practice and is part of the Fragile X Alliance Clinic multidisciplinary team.
Bev has a Bachelor of Science degree in occupational therapy and post-graduate training in Sensory Integration and Neurodevelopmental Therapy. Bev has a special interest in sensory processing disorders, Fragile X syndrome, autism spectrum disorders and school readiness.
In this presentation Bev will explain what Sensory Processing is and talk about the sensory sensitivities which are commonly experienced by people with Fragile X syndrome. Bev will talk about how a “sensory diet” of activities that are proactive or responsive can help a person remain calm and regulated. Bev will also provide practical strategies to help you support someone who has sensory sensitivities and Fragile X syndrome. Followed by live Q&A.
