President of Fragile X Association of Australia, and the Board invite you to join us for the Annual General Meeting 2025

WHEN

Sunday 23rd November 3:00-4:15pm (online).

The AGM is always an important opportunity to reflect and report to our members on the past year and look to what’s ahead.  This year we’ll cover:

  • FXAA’s programs and impact in 2025 – supporting our members, educational webinars, HelpLine, raising awareness of Fragile X and advocating for improvements in testing and diagnosis for Fragile X
  • Treasurer’s Report and audited financials at 30 June 2025
  • Celebration of the Fragile X community, including Achievement Awards and thanking our Volunteers
  • Election of members to the Board, with voting by online poll
  • And we’ll take a look at what’s on the horizon for FXAA in 2026.

Election of members to the Board

Three serving Board members have been nominated for a further term on the Board:
Adam Lawrence-Slater, Alison Evans, Belinda DÁmico 

Two members of FXAA have been nominated for a position on the Board:
Michael Miceli, Phil Eastbury.

Short presentations and reports

o Fragile X Care | Adults and Ageing – Update
This is the first Australian study looking at the support needs of adults with Fragile X syndrome as they age.  It’s a joint project between FXAA and Centre for Disability Studies (University of Sydney).     Hear about the results of our recent surveys, and work underway on developing online learning resources for disability and aged care support teams to help them better understand health needs and supports for adults with Fragile X syndrome.

Treatments for Fragile X syndrome – What’s on the Horizon? 
Prof W Ted Brown with a brief update on clinical trials and other research work internationally.

Fragile X International  
A report on the work of Fragile X International group, of which FXAA is a member. Hear about progress towards treatment guidelines for Fragile X, testing and screening for Fragile X, and the potential for an international registry.
