Stuart X: Watch Stuart’s Story Now

Stuart was born in the 1950’s, before Fragile X was known, and a time in which intellectual disability was poorly understood.  It was a long journey to the right diagnosis, and the right supports and care.
This 5-minute film is Stuart’s story.
Stuart’s family hopes that the film will raise awareness about the widespread need for better diagnosis, understanding and services for people with an intellectual disability.

Stuart X was made for Fragile X Association of Australia by Sydney film maker Thibault Upton, who has been working with Fragile X Association of Australia since 2015 to raise awareness of Fragile X through the medium of film. Robyn Iredale, who appears in the film, is a former President of Fragile X Association of Australia. The film is narrated by Academy Award-winning Australian actor Cate Blanchett.
