The Manly Wharf Bridge to Beach paddle race stands as one of Australia’s premier open water paddling events, celebrated globally for its breathtaking spectacle!

On race day Sunday 18th February, close to 500 participants will gather at Blues Point Reserve, capturing the beauty of a sunrise over Sydney Harbour. Starting out at the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge, paddlers will navigate past landmarks like the Sydney Opera House, Taronga Zoo, Bradley’s Head, Clifton Gardens, North Harbour Reserve, and both South and North Head, covering a distance of 11km.  The journey culminates at the scenic Manly Wharf, offering a stunning backdrop for the event’s finish.

But beyond the sheer exhilaration of paddling across Sydney’s beautiful Harbour, the Bridge to Beach is dedicated to supporting and raising funds for Fragile X Association of Australia, adding a meaningful purpose to this thrilling paddling experience.

This year race sponsor Shaw and Partners and the paddlers are really getting behind our campaign to raise funds for the FX Family Support and Counselling role.

The Shaw and Partners Foundation has pledged to MATCH, $ for $, the first $5,000 raised! Since 2017 Shaw and Partners has matched funds raised for Fragile X through the Bridge to Beach, and we sincerely appreciate this support.

The FX Family Support Counsellor offers specialised and unique support to people who live with Fragile X, and their families and carers. This is offered as counselling, peer connections, information, referrals and advocacy.  Money raised through the Bridge to Beach 2024 will help fund this role.
