Lawrie graduated in Medicine from the University of Sydney and specialised in Pathology. Lawrie has recently retired as Chief Medical Officer of Sonic Healthcare Australian Pathology and currently works part-time as a Consultant on Expert Systems. He is the immediate Past-President of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia.
Lawrie’s special interests in Pathology includes Management, Governance & Medical Leadership in Pathology Practice, Expert System development and Quality Systems & Accreditation.
Lawrie is married and has 5 children, 3 boys & 2 girls.
Through his Chief Medical Officer role and College work, Lawrie has been involved with issues relating to Genetic Pathology testing, including Fragile X, and advocacy to Government.
Lawrie was appointed to the Board at the Annual General Meeting on 1 December 2024.
