The Bridge to Beach is a spectacular annual paddle race across Sydney Harbour – from Kirribilli across to Manly Cove.   That’s around 11km, and up to 400 competitors take to the water to compete each year.   Bridge to Beach is the final race in the calendar for the Australian Ocean Racing Series.

We’re privileged and thankful to be charity partner for the race.  Many thanks to Dean and the crew at Oceanpaddler, which runs the race, to the major sponsor Investec, to Manly Wharf as naming sponsor, and all of the other businesses which get behind the race.

Wealth management firm Shaw and Partners is a keen supporter of the race series and the Bridge to Beach.  This year our fundraising target is big – $20,000!   We are thrilled that Shaw and Partners will once again generously match $ for $ funds raised for us through the race campaign, up to an amazing $10,000.

The fundraising is in support our Family Support Counselling service and Help Line, which are vital sources of information, education, referral and support for people affected by Fragile X and their family members and carers.

Our Help Line 1300 394 636 operates 9-5, 5 days a week, and our specialist Counsellor is available 3 days per week by Zoom, phone and email.

In 2019-2020 alone we attended to inquiries from around 550 people, in around 1,000 interactions.  So the importance of our support service to families newly diagnosed with Fragile X, or further on in their Fragile X journey is clear.

Your donation will be matched by Shaw and Partners – so your $100 donation is effectively $200!
