Fragile X workshop in Camperdown, SW Victoria on 29 November 2019.  Booking details – coming soon

This 1-day workshop is being organised by Community Southwest, and not-for-profit alliance of disability and support organisations in South West Victoria.   The workshop will cover issues and interventions for children and adults who have Fragile X syndrome.

The workshop will be led by Dr Jonathan Cohen and the team from Fragile X Alliance Clinic in Melbourne:

  • Astra King, Clinical Psychologist
  • Bev Sher, Speech and Language Therapist
  • Bev Kadish, Occupational Therapist
  • Rashelle Cohen, Behavioural Optometrist

Topics covered will include:

  • Overview of the Fragile X Syndrome
  • Behavioural issues – arousal, anxiety, attention and autism
  • Speech and language interventions
  • Working with children and adults with Fragile X Syndrome
  • A young adults perspective living with Fragile X Syndrome
  • Medications and behavioural issues
  • Visual cognitive skills and eye function
