Support On This Website
This site has been set up to not only be a source of up to date information on Fragile X, for our members and anyone else with an interest, but also to provide a means of online support; supplementing our other support services. We also want this site to be a reference point; providing you with a comprehensive source of information on disabitlity resources, services and events within Australia.
We ask you to help us and help others by letting us know of any resources or information that would be useful to publish on this site. This may be Fragile X related, about disability resources in Australia or about relevant useful online sites worldwide. You can do this via the forums, comments on our news articles or by our contact form.
(Note from our webmaster Sue Bride, who has studied online social communication and writes a blog about it at Blogging Sueblimely "For those who are not used to participating online it may be a little daunting for you to take part at first, but I urge you to try as the benefits that can result are worthwhile. As someone with a tendency to shyness, online communication has been a wonderful means of finding out about Fragile X as well as a good social outlet for me.”
Our Forums
Our site forums are a way for you to connect with parents and carers who have knowledge and experience of Fragile X and disability issues in general. You can ask questions (which will be answered) answer questions if you are able, write about your own experiences and make contact with others to get to them better.
We have a general Fragile X forum, which is open for anyone to see and contribute to. We also have a more private members only section, where most of the activity takes place. Anyone with an interest in Fragile X can join. Membership is not restricted to Australians.
