Membership

Membership of the Association is open to anyone but, in particular, to any individual, family or institution who has an interest in supporting/caring for people with Fragile X Syndrome.

Our membership consists mainly of families of people with Fragile X, but also includes doctors, therapists, educators, other professionals and schools.

Membership is AUD $25 per year for an individual/family/institution.

Newsletter

Members receive quarterly newsletters which include:

  • news on developments in the understanding and treatment of Fragile X
  • member comments/experience
  • details of upcoming events.

Support

  • Members can talk to other families to learn about their experiences with Fragile X and thus gain knowledge in how to deal with issues on a day to day basis.

Information

  • The Association has produced  a booklet and brochures on Fragile X and has a library of publications, DVDs etc which are available to members.

Clinics

  • Specialised medical/therapeutic clinics for children and adults with Fragile X are arranged by the Association and are available to members at no cost.

Events

The Association arranges:

  • Conferences and seminars where local and overseas experts share their knowledge and insights
  • Social events to provide members with an opportunity to meet and share their experiences with other Fragile X families
  • Young adults social and sporting activities
