FXAA Constitution 2010

At our recent AGM on the 21st August the Fragile X Association of Australia’s Constitution was updated to encompass the new NSW laws for Associations. Also, the Committee considered that experience over recent years required a review of the Constitution, its governance and operation.

In addition to bringing the Constitution into line with the new model rules, the new Constitution represents the Association’s carefully considered views about expanding the scope of categories of membership to include extended family, professionals involved with fragile X syndrome and any person with a demonstrated commitment to advancing the objects of the Association.  Also, it includes modifications to the Board structure and procedures. There is no change to the Objects of the Association given their importance.  The  2010 Constitution was accepted for registration.
